Inspire Films
Problem
Inspire Films’ lack of a strong web presence hampered its efforts to generate exposure, funding, and attract guest lecturers.
Process
Site Architecture
Inspire Films, a Northwestern University student initiative, seeks to connect with a variety of audiences—students, administrators, philanthropists, and scholars. I restructured the site content so that any visitor can quickly find desired information.
Visual Design
An organization engaged in visual media, Inspire Films needed to project a strong aesthetic image, one that demonstrated its awareness of current web trends and evoked its grass-roots principles: “We’re so not Helvetica,” proclaimed one of the Inspire Films co-chairs in an early design meeting. By combining textures and paint effects with clean typography, I struck a balance between the grungy aesthetic requested and the professional appearance Inspire Films needed to continue its growth within the Northwestern University and beyond.
Solution
Following the website’s launch, Inspire Films has experienced a substantial improvement in communication with and interest among its primary audience, the Northwestern University student body.
