Adshop

Launching March 2010

Problem

Adshop, an integrated advertising agency run solely by Northwestern University students, wanted to attract new clients outside the university community and continue its expansion into digital services.

Process

Site Architecture

To instill confidence in a prospective client became one of Adshop’s top priorities for the design process.  As an entirely student-run agency, Adshop is at a disadvantage compared to its competitors when attracting a prospective client who might be wary trusting their business to college students.

To solve this problem, I emphasized a featured project, directing prospective clients immediately to Adshop’s impressive portfolio, and only afterwards encouraging them to learn more about Adshop as a business.

Visual Design

“Keeping up appearances” is especially important for an advertising agency, so the design needed to reflect current web trends.  Clean and crisp with a bold color scheme evoked the tone of Adshop’s portfolio of work, professional yet playful.  Combined with clever copy, the resulting tone is precisely what Adshop wants and needs to portray: an agency lacking in pretension but overflowing with talent.

Solution

The final design establishes Adshop as a boutique agency with the knowledge and skill to compete with any advertising agency.
